Meredith sent me an e-mail this week that included this statement: "I think I am beginning to see that there is a deepness to friendships, this 'I would go anywhere with you' mentality, that is rare and is to be treasured."
I was blown away by the beauty and simplicity of her notion.

A person you choose to be around during your high highs AND your low lows, that's something to treasure. A friend you'd backpack Europe with AND help budget their finances, there's connectedness there. A person you call at 4am AND call a bitch to their face, there's authenticity in that relationship. A pal who gets you at your core and still loves you, that's beautiful. And a friend who you'd go anywhere with-- to Madagascar's sandy beaches, central Asia's mountaintops AND into their skeleton-filled closets-- there is depth.
Something rare.
Something profound.
Something to celebrate.

I'm with Meredith on this one... I'm gladly learning to see and treasure the deepness of friendship.
