Advice from Katy Perry? Hmmm...
So, I find it rather humbling to agree with anything Katy Perry says.
Based almost completely on the fact that this same young women was made famous over an intentionally controversial song, "I kissed a girl and I liked it, I liked it. No, I don't even know your name. It doesn't matter, you're my experimental game" (lyrics from I Kissed a Girl).
And yet, tonight I find value in a recent Katy Perry interview. According to MSN (2009), Katy announced that her upcoming album will not include any songs about boys. More specifically she claims, "I don't even mess with boys anymore, I mess with men..."
Perhaps I'm a little slow to this conclusion.
If I'm honest with myself, I've wasted too much time and attention on boys who weren't ready to know their own hearts. So, how could they be trusted with mine?
Surprisingly, I don't feel bitter. Just clear headed... and apparently taking advice from Katy Perry these days. Crazier things have happened.
